Writers Make Portraits

ArtistsWorkhouse presented an exhibition on the theme of portraiture exploring how an artist can evoke a human presence. The resulting works were shown in March 2017

Our writers visited this exhibition and with similar considerations produced a series of texts for ‘Writers make Portraits’ which were performed on 9th July 2017 . The artists were invited to display their work again to accompany this performance.

The idea behind this project was to see how writers and artists would interpret the same artistic question. Writers could either respond to the art works or reflect on the theme of portraiture in their own way.
