On the morning of the 7 Oct 2020 I happened to watch, for a moment, an old man engaged in a game of catch with a personal trainer. As the man, laughing, caught, threw, grasped, fumbled and chased after the ball, I recognised fleetingly the young boy inside him. Temporarily, in this game between two, it seemed that the ball took flight across time.
